WebDaniel F. Runde is senior vice president, director of the Project on Prosperity and Development, and holds the William A. Schreyer Chair in Global Analysis at CSIS. His work centers on leveraging American soft power instruments and the central roles of the private sector and good governance in creating a more free and prosperous world. Runde has been a long-standing member of the board of directors for the Society for International Development-Washington (SIDW) and served as its president between 2011 and 2012. He also served as chair of the July 2011 SID World Congress in Washington, DC. Runde is also a life member of the Council of Foreign Relations.
